Last Friday we held an official sports day at school to have some fun and encourage the children of El Cocal to be active!
During the day we played a few games including potato-sack races, starfish tag, and dizzy baseball. The kids and the volunteers all had a blast with a lot of laughs.
After our sports activities, we also presented a recycling lesson to the students, to encourage taking care of our environment and their community! More about this in a forthcoming blog....
This week we have had a few days to work on restoring the center and the school in El Cocal, and I can't wait to see the final finished product.
My two weeks here have been amazing, and I wish I was staying longer; I am so glad I was able to be a part of this program, volunteering in the center, the school, restoring the classroom, and was able meet so many great volunteers and staff! :)
