My first days in the Quepos Community Program

I’m just over half way through my first week in Costa Rica and I'm really enjoying it so far. On Monday I visited El Cocal for the first time and met some of the locals and children at the school, everybody here is so friendly and made me feel very welcome. On Tuesday I got to spend some time in school helping in the English classes which was really nice as it gave me a chance to get to know the kids a bit better and for them to know me (see photo doing one-on one's). After school finished I met on of the other volunteers who helps with the football team and we played with the team who didn't seem very impressed with my football skills as I’m completely useless at it, but it was good fun anyway.

On the way back to Quepos on the panga (the little boat we get to El Cocal) we seen a crocodile in the water! Nuri says it was 1.5m and that there is another one 2.5m in the area too so I’ll keep an eye out for it!.
It’s been a really good week and the food here’s better than expected which is a bonus especially when Eneida (our neighbor at the community center) makes it.

Hasta luego, Caitlin
