News Update

Hi all,

Just a brief message after the quakes in Peru. There was an alert issued for Pacific Coast countries for an increased risk of after-effects such as Tsunamis.

This alert has now been lifted for Costa Rica.

The expedition is based on the Caribbean (Atlantic) Coast, and not the Pacific, and has not been affected in any way. In fact the seas were calm enough last night for two ancient leatherback turtles to nest just outside the base! Everyone at base is doing well.

Our thoughts are with those affected.

Thanks,

Dave - GVI Costa Rica Country Director
