Out on the canals...

(Photo by Sophie Abrams, 10-week volunteer)

An ospray (Pandion haliaetus) perches on a branch at the river mouth with a fresh catch. (Photo by Jonathan Groom, Internship Program)

A Northern jacana (Jacana spinosa) at the canal edge. (Photo by Sam Hopes, Internship Program)

Surveys in the forest, helping to compile the first long-term species list for the area. (Photo by Noemie Arnault, 10-week volunteer). Here's just a glimpse of what we've recorded...

A three-toed sloth! (Bradypus variegatus) (Photo by Emily Hoffman, 5-week volunteer - incidentally, two-toed sloths have also been sighted and their full name is Hoffman's two-toed sloth! (Choloepus didactylus))

Interesting insects... (Photo by Charissa Jaganath)

Spectacular adaptations (Photo by Jon again)

Jonathan birding... (Photo by Nicky Alger, 10-week volunteer)

Central American spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi)...lots! (Photo: another from Jon)

Mantled howler monkeys (Alouatta palliata)...noisey! (Credits to Jon again!)

A lot of eyelash vipers (Bothriechis schlegelii) in all colours of the rainbow (almost) (Jon again!)

Amorous toads (Bufo marinus) (Photo by Jeremy Erikson, 10-week volunteer)

Hundreds of beautiful butterflies (they love the fruit trees in the garden). (Jon again, evidently he's not always birding!)

Some home improvements...(Photo by Sam again)
And...

Jag (Panthera onca) tracks right outside the door! (Photo by Charlotte Savege, Internship Program)

Here's the guys that make it all possible - they are the difference! Thanks guys, looking forward to the next five weeks! (Photo by Nicky, again) And thanks for all the wonderful photos!
