Welcome new volunteers!

This Friday May 8th saw the arrival of a new batch of GVI Costa Rica volunteers joining the 10 weekers at Cano Palma Biological Station, inside the Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica.

The lucky new team are Kate Tucker, Nicolas Walenda, Kelsey Boultbee, Victoria Copeland, Thea Sida-Murray, Noelle Diaz and Rachel Stevenson.


They will be undergoing intensive training for a week, after which they will be ready to jump into the following projects:

1. Jaguar predation of marine turtles
2. Jaguar and other mammal abundance research
3. Marine turtle monitoring and conservation programme
4. Resident and migratory bird research
5. Local capacity building and community and tourist environmental education and sustainable development initiatives
